Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) is a student organization that seeks economic and social justice for everyone around the world. The SDS chapter at UNCC (The University of North Carolina at Charlotte) was built up by a group of college activists who were eager to keep SDS alive for our generation today (for a history of SDS, visit this link). I recently had the chance to meet such a passionate, smart and determined young woman by the name of Carly Queen. She is currently the Field Coordinator for NWF’s Campus Ecology program. She works with all Southeast area students and activists to help bring more awareness on sustainability and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.  She came to UNC Charlotte to inform us about the upcoming Carolina’s Power Shift and to get everyone pumped and ready to go. As some of you may know that I’m coming all the way from Charlotte, NC!! I will be the 1st to admit that I love the city but I do believe that we do need some major…MAJOR improvements when is comes to sustainability and protecting our environment.
