I was speaking recently with a college student who was saying that she didn’t think she would continue to participate in her school’s environmental club next year. I know environmental issues were important to her, so I asked why. She told me couldn’t really explain, but it felt like an ineffective use of her time. I told her I thought I knew what she meant.
